Terms of Service – Overcoming Insomnia

1. Program Purpose

Overcoming Insomnia is a self-development and educational program designed to support individuals in cultivating better sleep through meditation, education, natural practices, and self-awareness. The content is based on lived experience and personal healing, and is intended as supportive guidance rather than medical treatment.

2. Not a Substitute for Medical Advice

I am not a licensed health professional, registered psychologist, or medical doctor. I do not diagnose, treat, or cure any medical or psychological condition. The information shared throughout the Overcoming Insomnia program — including all contemplations, meditations, educational sessions, and one-on-one Deep Release sessions — is for informational and educational purposes only.

If you are experiencing severe mental health issues, please consult with a qualified healthcare provider. You are responsible for your own health and well-being throughout this process.

3. Results May Vary

Each individual’s experience with the program will be different. While many people report improvements in sleep and overall well-being, outcomes cannot be guaranteed.

4. Use of Materials

All content provided within the Overcoming Insomnia program, including videos, meditations, handouts, and written materials, is for personal use only. You may not share, reproduce, or distribute the content without written permission.

 

Privacy Statement

1. Personal Information

Any personal information you share during your participation in the program — including your name, email address, and responses to feedback forms — will be treated with care and confidentiality. Your details will never be sold, shared, or used for purposes outside the program without your consent.

2. Session Confidentiality

If you are participating in the six-week intensive version of the program, all one-on-one Deep Release sessions will remain completely confidential. Notes, if taken, are for reflective purposes only and are never shared.

3. Testimonials and Feedback

If you agree to provide a written or video testimonial, it may be shared publicly (on my website or social media) to support others in understanding the nature of the program. You will always be asked to confirm your permission before anything is published, and you may choose to remain anonymous if you prefer.

4. Data Security

Your data will be stored securely and only accessed by me. If at any point you wish to have your information removed or updated, simply email me and I will take care of it promptly.

My story - I had insomnia for much of my adult life. Being attacked in my own home, in my own bed - which was supposed to be my safe place - triggered a cascade of mental health issues. I was diagnosed with panic disorder, generalised anxiety disorder, ptsd and insomnia. Everything felt so unmanageable to the point that I made an attempt to end my life. From then I became medicated to save my life which I can say that I did desperately need at that time. I went through a series of therapies to heal and learn how to manage the daily anxiety and just as I felt I was getting on top of it, my partner died suddenly. A couple of years later I had a house fire and lost my home. These events contributed to a constant feeling that nothing was safe and the panic and anxiety ramped all the way up again, I also developed a chronic pain condition due to my dysfunctional nervous system. Since then, I am proud to say that with a lot of love and support, I managed to rebuild my life and heal from these traumas but the one thing I could never get a handle on was my sleep. I had been on sleeping pills every night for over a decade. I had so much fear around sleeping that I had to be fully sedated before even attempting to go to bed, on the rare occasions that I *almost* managed to take a nap during the day, my heart rate would rise, my body would flood with adrenaline because my brain was telling me sleep was unsafe. If I forgot to take my sleeping pills, I would be up all night. I felt exhaustion, I felt fatigue but I never felt sleepy. The last time I remember feeling sleepy before bed was in my teen years. When Annelies told me her story and that she was trialing a sleep therapy program to help cure people's insomnia, I tentatively volunteered with a small amount of hope in my heart but I remember saying "It's okay if you can't help me, it's pretty heavy and complicated. I would just be happy to feel less fear around sleeping." I signed up for her online course and in person therapy sessions. After 4 weeks I had tapered myself off my sleeping pills with her support and I am now sleeping naturally, deeply and easily without sleep aides. I feel sleepy at bedtime, I can nap, my energy levels are so much higher, my chronic pain is barely noticeable and the follow on effects of having deep natural sleep have been unbelievable. Even my skin looks different and I barely recognise myself without the dark circles under my eyes that had just become part of me for so long. I truly believed that I would be on sleeping pills and have insomnia for the rest of my life, I never thought this was possible for me. If Annelies could help me, I believe she can help anyone.
